"Art is a place for children to learn to trust their ideas, themselves and to explore what is possible." -Maryann F. Kohl

ABOUT ME

Hi and welcome to my teaching website! I am a proud May 2020 graduate of Colorado State University.

I love to travel and see how art can differ around the world. Over the years, I've traveled to France, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cayman Islands, Nicaragua and Belize. My mission trips to Nicaragua and Belize played a pivotal role in who I am and how I view the world. The three mission trips I went on cultivated a fire and passion for helping others.

I see myself as a leader and role model and wish to bring these inclusive values for all to my classroom.

Some of my hobbies include hiking, open water swimming and painting. I've been a competitive swimmer since I was 6 and now share my love of swimming with others by giving swim lessons and coaching in my free time.

As for art, I've recently started a series of 64"x48" abstract paintings (shown as the cover photos for my website) focusing on movement and depth created in each piece. When I'm not working on my abstract paintings, you can find me drawing and painting portraits or making pottery in my studio at home.
